It all started in the 1922, when three smart businessmen invented a new brand name: Mr. Hans Rollman, Mr. Karl Michael and Mr. Karl Kaufmann decided to use the 1st two letters of their surnames to create the brand name RO MI KA.
The three partners knew exactly, that from the marketing point of view, the name concept was perfect: Easy to pronounce, read and write, not only in Germany, but also for most international markets: The remarkable and simple character of these 6 letters became a synonym for high quality premium footwear products worldwide.
It was Mr. Rollmann and his partners who invented many new materials and constructions like foam rubber or Vibram.
At that time of course nobody, not even the three founders, could imagine that over more than 85 years this name developed into one of the most popular brand names ever in the worldwide shoe history.
Just like the shoes, the brand name ROMIKA is suitable and successful across all markets.
